Football Analyst Sutton Battles Singer Olly Murs in Top Flight Forecasts

The Gunners' ten-match victorious run was ended by the Black Cats prior to the international hiatus, however will the Premier League leaders bounce back against local foes Spurs this Sunday?

"{I feel like Arsenal are light years ahead of Tottenham at the moment but Spurs manager Thomas Frank will have a plan for this game," stated football specialist Chris Sutton.

"Frank will try to nullify Arsenal, who have not always been at their sparkling finest this campaign - but Mikel Arteta's side usually still manage to win."

The analyst is making predictions for all 380 Premier League fixtures this term, against AI, fans and a variety of guests.

In week 12, he takes on singer Olly Murs, who is a United supporter.

Murs' latest record, Knees Up, is available on the weekend.

Football and Parenting Experiences

Olly is a skilled footballer as well as a accomplished artist and has been a star of multiple charity football matches over time - but he is not planning a serious return as a footballer.

"{I recently played in a benefit match the other night for a mate of mine," he explained. "My team was losing 3-1 when I came off in the second half, and they proceeded to win 4-3, so you can read into that what you will!

"I continue to love football, but I hurt my joint a few years ago and it even now isn't where I want it to be. I wish I could play more but the uncertainty of the game means it's too dangerous for me in my career to do it seriously again.

"Plus I am 41 now, and we are not everyone is Cristiano Ronaldo, are we!? No, I am very content not playing football and I am preparing for the time that my child or son chooses to play instead."

The singer and his spouse Amelia Tank have two children, Madison and Albert, and he is ready to emulate his dad by becoming their manager.

"I won't force football on our kids but I've previously told my wife that if they happen to get the bug for it then I will have to go and get my manager qualifications - and I will likely be managing their weekend football side," he added.

"I observed my relatives play a lot, and I really got into it, and I clearly owned a football club for a period too.

"My father did it with us when I was a child, which is probably where I inherited it. He managed our side for several seasons and had a wonderful time with it. That might be the next step for me as well, and I am excited to it!"

Premier League Predictions

Saturday, 22 November

  • Turf Moor, 12:30 GMT

The Blues may have to be patient for Cole Palmer's comeback from fitness issues but their offense is already more potent with Joao Pedro and Delap both back fit.

I still think this fixture will be quite close, though. The Clarets are disciplined and their sole home losses so far have been against the Reds and the Gunners.

It smells of a one-all tie to me, but I am actually going to go with Chelsea to edge it for what would be their third league win in a row.

Sutton's forecast: 1-2

Olly's pick: Chelsea will be too strong. 1-3

AI's outlook: 0-2

  • Vitality Stadium, 15:00 GMT

Bournemouth have been defeated in their past two games - although both of them were on the road - but they got absolutely spanked by Aston Villa last time out which shocked me.

On the other hand, the Hammers won two in a row before the international break and, although both of those fixtures were at home, they appear strong again.

The Hammers' sole on the road victory this campaign came at Forest in August, when West Ham manager Nuno Espirito Santo was previously that team's coach.

Therefore, what on earth do I go with here - will it be West Ham extending their run under Nuno, or Bournemouth responding?

I will choose Bournemouth, because I believe what occurred against Villa was a anomaly.

The pundit's forecast: 2-0

The guest's prediction: Bournemouth are doing well but West Ham have picked up under Nuno. 2-2

The algorithm's pick: 1-1

  • Amex Stadium, 15:00 GMT

The Bees were seen as one of the favourites for relegation before the campaign began, but they have surprised a several people under their manager and are in fine fettle with three wins in their last four games.

A family member advised me to get Bees forward Igor Thiago in my fantasy soccer squad a few weeks back and, guess what, I didn't listen.

Thiago will probably score again on the weekend but I am nonetheless not going to select him or support the away side at Amex Stadium.

They have not had much success on the travel this season, and the Seagulls are always strong at home. Brentford will attempt to hit them on the counter-attack but I think the home manager's team carry much more of a danger.

Sutton's prediction: 2-1

Olly's prediction: It could be one of those games where you expect there is going to be a many goals but it actually proves to be quite close. 1-1

The computer's prediction: 2-1

  • Craven Cottage, 15:00 GMT

It is a huge game for Fulham, who have lost five of their last six games.

They have got plenty of talent in their squad but it nonetheless feels like they could be sucked into a drop zone fight.

Regarding Sunderland, indeed they are the surprise package of the top flight season so far.

The away side's display in the 2-2 draw with Arsenal last time out was excellent. We've not seen any other team disrupt the North London side like that this term, and they were more than a match for them.

The logical choice would be to back the Black Cats here, because they are obviously capable of disrupting Fulham up too and, the last time they were in this part of London, they defeated Chelsea at the end of October.

But I am not do that. Rather, I truly need to carry on going against Sunderland with my predictions. I am taking a lot of credit for their good results because they evidently enjoy to defy my predictions.

Looking at the home side's home record, the sole side they have lost to is Arsenal. Marco Silva's team will be absolutely eager for a positive outcome, so I am going to say they will pick up three points.

Sutton's prediction: 1-0

Olly's choice: I'm aware the visitors are performing strongly and also that Fulham are on a bad run... but they have still been decent at Craven Cottage this campaign. 2-0

The algorithm's prediction: 2-0

  • Anfield, 15:00 GMT

This is a tough one to predict. Liverpool have lost seven of their past 10 matches in every tournament, but could they be one of the teams who profit from the {international break|
