A man who laced sweets with tranquilliser and distributed them to youngsters at a youth camp in the area has admitted sexual offenses against two boys both nine and 10.
The defendant was detained after eight youngsters and a grown-up fell ill at the location in July.
The senior citizen, from the Nottinghamshire area, pleaded guilty to a series of 17 offences when he was present at the judicial center on Friday.
Nevertheless, he refused to admit one of the sexual offences he was accused of, which was against a nine-year-old boy.
Ruben was held in detention before a further hearing on November 28th.
'Candy game'
The prosecutor, handling the case, detailed Ruben's offending to the judicial body.
She explained his those affected were disadvantaged youngsters who were attending a youth camp which he managed.
The defendant played a "treat game" with the children, the legal counsel stated, in which he would go into the sleeping quarters when they were preparing to sleep and ask them to eat sweets "as quickly as they can".
She informed the proceedings Ruben had conducted this practice with the young males "repeatedly", and children had previously fallen ill the subsequent day.
She stated the man had been capable of justifying this over a long period as the children being "overstimulated by activities", until his stepchild had suspicions in summer 2025.
The prosecutor added: "Recently" his family member had worries about the situation, with valid cause.
"They chose" to examine in the defendant's belongings."
The legal counsel explained materials including baby oil, petroleum jelly and injection devices were discovered, and his stepson contacted the law enforcement about his concerns.
She explained the defendant continued to play the "sweet game" with six boys that night - July 26th - and they were all sick the following morning.
"Law enforcement" had not responded by that point," she added.
The oversight body, the Independent Office for Police Conduct, earlier informed that it was reviewing law enforcement's management of the incident.
The legal representative explained the children were unable to walk properly due to being ill, so Ruben's stepson called the law enforcement once more.
She said the defendant then engaged in the "candy game" in a area of five minors.
