The Seattle Seahawks staged a stunning fightback to defeat the Los Angeles Rams in extra time, securing their spot in the NFL play-offs.
Rallying from a sixteen-point hole in the fourth quarter, the Seahawks emerged victorious 38-37 at home, notching their fifth consecutive victory.
While the Los Angeles had become the first to earn a playoff spot earlier on Sunday, the Seahawks secured their place to the postseason after a two-year absence.
With this outcome, the Seattle now lead their division's race with a twelve and three record, supplanting the Los Angeles, who dropped to the fifth playoff position with an eleven and four standing.
Game Highlights
Quarterback Sam Darnold had two picks but recovered to make two touchdown passes, including the tying score to star receiver Smith-Njigba in the extra period.
The Rams held a 13-7 lead at half-time before Walker burst through for a 55-yard scoring dash for the home side.
Rams defensive back Wallace then took back Darnold's initial pick for a big return, leading to a one-yard touchdown by Blake Corum on the ensuing snap.
In the final stanza, a scoring pass from Matthew Stafford to Puka Nacua pushed the Rams' lead to 30-14, but Rashid Shaheed provided the comeback with a 58-yard return for a score.
Darnold then found AJ Barner in the end zone, and a successful two-point play forced the game into overtime.
Although Puka Nacua scored for his another TD in OT, Jaxon Smith-Njigba answered in kind to set up the decisive conversion.
