People have come together across the country to mark two years since the Hamas-led assault on 7 October 2023, as talks proceeded in Egypt over a resolution to the conflict in Gaza.

The attack resulted in in excess of 1,200 people killed and 251 others abducted away to Gaza as prisoners. It was the most deadliest day for Jewish people since the Second World War.

Israel answered by launching a armed campaign in Gaza which has claimed more than 67,000 people, according to the area's Hamas-run health ministry. Its statistics are regarded as accurate by the UN and other world agencies.

"The bloodthirsty adversaries have caused great damage, but they have not defeated us," the leader remarked on Tuesday.

He also pledged to "realize all the objectives of the war: the homecoming of all the kidnapped, the destruction of the Hamas administration and the assurance that Gaza will not create a risk to Israel".

Commemorative Gatherings Across Israel

The national leadership rescheduled official commemorations until 16 October - after the completion of the religious holiday season - but events still took place around the country on that day.

A remembrance service for the families of Israeli citizens who died in the Hamas attack was conducted in the coastal city. Organized by the affected families, it was televised throughout Israeli broadcast stations.

Some time earlier, a silent tribute was respected across the country.

Peace Discussions in Egypt

Meanwhile, the conflicting parties' delegations gathered in the Egyptian Red Sea resort of the negotiation venue for a second day of mediated discussions to discuss the provisions of the proposal.

A senior Palestinian official involved in the discussions indicated that an evening round of indirect talks began at 19:00 Cairo time.

The source explained the day's discussions finished without significant progress, amid differences over the proposed Israeli pullout plans from Gaza and over assurances Hamas demands to make certain Israel does not restart fighting after the opening period of the deal.

He commented that the discussions are "difficult and have not yet deliver any major advancement," but pointed out that facilitators are making efforts to narrow the differences between the two sides.

Key Matters in Negotiations

  • An enduring halt to fighting
  • The trade of the prisoners still kept by Hamas for detainees from Gaza
  • The withdrawal of Israeli forces from Gaza
  • Arrangements for humanitarian aid deliveries
  • Future management of the area

Citizen Feeling

In the city's public square earlier, young Hagar - whose family member survived the attack on the outdoor event, where hundreds were lost their lives and dozens more were captured by Hamas gunmen - told: "Nowhere seems like home any longer and until all the hostages come back no one will be secure."

"When we see everybody home again, we can relax once more. Then we can begin to rebuild," she continued.

In front of the leader's home in the capital, people assembled to demonstrate their support for the relatives of the abducted. Israel states 48 remain in confinement in Gaza, twenty of whom are considered to be alive.

Activist a participant remarked: "It's necessary do any agreement required for the abducted to come back home. But we truly desire guarantees that we will be protected."

Opinion polls now consistently show that around the majority of Israeli citizens want the war to finish in exchange for the freedom of the abducted.

Gaza Situation

At the location of Nova festival, those paying respects gathered to pay their respects.

From that location, the sound of Israeli air strikes and explosions could be heard just a short distance away in Gaza, where observers reported the intense Israeli attacks persisted.

In the main city, attacks were reported in the morning of Tuesday in the west side Tal al-Hawa, area and Nasr areas and in the eastern neighbourhood of that sector, as well the camp to the northwest.

"Once the evening comes, the fear arrives with it," evacuated Gaza City resident a local woman, whose teenage son was died by an Israeli air strike previously, explained.

"Me and my three children are terrified of the bombings. Throughout the evening we are lying together, clinging, notably my youngest child who puts his head on me all night."

"Continuously we check the updates to see what happened. And I'm afraid that this halt will not be finalized and that the war will return to us."

Medical Crisis

The medical facility in Gaza City announced it had received the corpses of six people by the afternoon, including three who lost their lives in an Israeli bombing in the south part district.

Another medical facility in the southern urban center of the city reported two more victims had been delivered. One of them was lost his life by Israeli forces while looking for help to the south, medical staff said.

The region's health ministry reported twenty-five of the {territ
