The return of Mega Evolutions in Pokémon Legends: Z-A has ignited widespread excitement across the fandom. Starting with the gradual unveiling of newcomers ahead of the title's release, to players forming strong opinions on the entire roster of new Megas, there's plenty for enthusiasts to look forward to.

Given numerous of the Mega Evolutions boasting distinctive designs that emphasize their personalities, one thought came to mind: What's the best way to link this with zodiac signs? The following is based on a blend of intuition, sign stereotypes, and individual observations.

Aries – Super Camerupt

To be truthful, Houndoom was almost selected for Aries, as both are the Super Form and zodiac symbol that evoke the most fear. Several previous official descriptions mention their craving for tasty tree sap and how it employs its appendage to hoard it everything, which is true Taurus energy.

The Twins – Super Medicham

Observe this absolute royalty. You cannot tell me this creature is not the soul of every party, offering an endless stream of chatter to anyone who wants to hear. Much like an enrapturing, gregarious Gemini, it's incredibly easy to imagine Super Medicham captivating an whole open area with their tales. Medicham’s Pokédex entry also states its ability to foresee an enemy’s next moves, which sounds very like a people-smart Twins.

Cancer – Super Manectric

Virgo – Super Victreebel

The always-ready and perpetually-anxious Maiden is perfectly encapsulated in Super Victreebel, the Mega with perpetual acid reflux. The zodiac symbol known for being endearingly judgmental is strongly reflected across this Pokémon’s entire evolutionary chain, from a always shocked expression like a Maiden when you inform them you lack a 401(k), to its inverted visage that’s similar to the symbol a Maiden sends to the group chat when everyone says they want to “be spontaneous” rather than creating a plan.

Libra – Mega Audino

Look at this sweet, empathetic being, who employs the sensors on its ears to tell how others are emotionally by their heartbeat. Always empathetic – occasionally to a fault – and striving to keep the peace, there are many Libras who would likely appreciate Mega Audino’s skills. Though, to be frank, it would likely just make them stress more about others.

The Scorpion – Mega Banette

This Ghost-type is a Pokémon with a unexpectedly tragic origin: Abandoned as a doll, it became consciousness through sheer hatred and swore retribution on its previous caretaker. Per the Pokédex, Mega Evolution, “increases its vindictiveness.” That seems precisely like several discussions I’ve had with my intense Scorpion acquaintances. A Scorpion loves cosmic justice and retribution, making them the ideal match with Super Banette.

The Archer – Super Hawlucha

Both Super Hawlucha and Archers are always staging a show. As a Sagittarius personally, the amount of times I’ve referred to myself some variation of a “silly small jester” is innumerable. The most flamboyant and most attention-seeking Mega Evolution, its description even mentions how it “flexes to show off its strength.” I would do the very same thing if I had some kind of Super Form, making Super Hawlucha the most apt Sagittarius counterpart I can imagine.

Capricorn – Mega Absol

Were you aware that a Super Absol has the ability to predict calamities ahead of time? That gives the exact same vibe as a Goat, who often consistently think they’re right. Interestingly, much like a visionary Mega Absol, they often are.
